Proton alternative
Proton took encrypted mail further than anyone. What it does not cover is the rest of the working day: there is no team chat, no wiki, no boards and no editing of Office documents.

Where Proton is better
- End-to-end encryption on mail and calendar, with the provider unable to read the content. We do not offer that. Your files are encrypted with keys we hold, which keeps them from our storage provider — not from us.
- A published security record, external audits and an open-source client — years ahead of anything we can show.
- A business VPN and a password manager in the same subscription.
- A company of a size that answers a tender, with the certifications to prove it.
Where Beskos wins
- Team chat, wiki, boards, contacts and Office document editing, none of which Proton covers.
- Switzerland is not the European Union: for a requirement that says EU, an adequacy decision is not the same answer.
- One application rather than a set of separate products sharing an account.
- An assistant with the context of mail, calendar and the team wiki, included in the price.
In short
If the requirement is that the provider cannot read the mail, Proton is the better answer and we say so plainly. If the requirement is the whole working day under European law, Proton covers about a third of it and the rest returns to the subscriptions you were trying to leave.
