Install on desktop and mobile
The native applications and the features they add.

All functionality is available in a browser. The desktop application adds two capabilities: synchronisation of local folders with Drive, and native notifications while the application is closed.
Desktop
Available for macOS, Windows and Linux. The application runs in a dedicated window and uses the notification system of the operating system.
Office documents open in a separate window rather than a tab.
Mobile
Available for Android and iOS. Third-party mail applications are also supported; see the following article for connection settings.
Folder synchronisation
Folders are selected in Drive and are then synchronised to the local machine. Files shared by another user synchronise read-only into a separate folder, so that local modifications are not uploaded over the owner's version.
