When the account expires

The suspension sequence and the functions that remain available.

Updated:

Contents

Outbound mail is suspended first and account access is withdrawn last, so that data remains accessible for export throughout the intervening period.

Sequence

  • 3 days before the trial ends, a notice is displayed in the application
  • At the end of the trial, sending is suspended; reading, search and export remain available
  • 7 days later, sign-in is refused and active sessions are terminated

Failed payments

A declined payment generates a notice and does not suspend any function. Payment providers retry a declined card over several days.

Where payment remains outstanding after the end of the paid period, the sequence above applies.

Read access during suspension

The mailbox remains readable and exportable throughout the grace period. This allows a request for the return of data to be fulfilled rather than the data being deleted.

Cancellation

A cancelled subscription remains active until the end of the period already paid for.
